The town’s main appeal is undeniably its Mid-Valley location. Situated between Aspen and Glenwood, Basalt is located within close proximity to world-renowned ski areas.   • The Rio Grande Trail is perfect for walking, running, and cycling. It extends for over 42 miles from Aspen to Glenwood Springs with Basalt at the halfway point.
  • Arbaney Park is a recreational area with a playground, barn, seasonal outdoor pool, and grassy field for soccer games. It also features BBQ pits and picnic tables for outdoor gatherings.

  • Triangle Park is a neighborhood park with a sparkling fountain and outdoor stage for concerts and gatherings in Willits.

  • The Basalt Summer Concert Series takes place every Wednesday from late June through August with the exception of holidays. The concerts are held at Triangle Park and Basalt River Park.
